DRIVING HOME

Autumn sunset near Severy, Kansas, Nov. 9, 2010

I don’t advocate taking pictures while driving, but every once in a while the sky is so flush with color that I can’t resist grabbing the camera, aiming it more or less through the car window, while keeping my eyes on the highway, of course, and hoping for the best. This shot did not disappoint.

Agreed - that one's a beauty!

And I am SOOO guilty of the same thing! :)

shooting pics while driving isn't nearly as bad as your old habit of reading an entire Sports Illustrated between Fredonia and Pittsburg

Well, M2, I still have a tendency to do that if I'm really tired and am afraid I'll fall asleep at the wheel. I DID read an article on the way home about the origin of Thanksgiving, which was quite interesting. Geo. Washington started it, but then Thomas Jefferson put a stop to it because he felt it violated the Constitution's belief of separting church and state. TJ was always one to go by the book.
